Raingutter Regatta

Posted in Uncategorized at 12:00 am by dgcombs

Imagine, if you will, a group of around sixty boys ages 5 to 12 milling around in a gymnasium with some smaller number of adults trying to herd this group into some form of fun activity. That was the scene, the noisy scene, at the Rain Gutter Regatta last night. The Bears, Wolves and Webelos were in full force with their boats marking a fun night celebrating pirate ships. Coming as it did on the heels of Talk Like a Pirate Day, it was quite a site to see.
The noise was deafening but the boys all had fun. Tyler took first place in his heat but was beat out by an experienced scout in the last run. He had to settle for second place and feeling woosey at the end from huffing and puffing as hard as his little lungs could blow through a straw.More Pictures are available on the Flickr site.
